At 108 cm this is one of the smaller acoustic pianos Yamaha built, and that is the reason to want one.
Tell us the room, the floor and whether there is a lift. We will say whether this one works before you make the trip.
Yamaha
In the price, not added at the end.
Read both. The second list is the one that saves people money.
Short strings, so the tone is direct rather than deep. In a small tiled room that is usually an advantage, because a big piano in a hard little room mostly gives you echo.
Set against the Yamaha U1H, the most commonly sold used Yamaha here, it is 13 cm shorter and 37 kg lighter. Among the lightest we list, in a range that runs from 180 kg to 254 kg.
Yamaha is the brighter and quicker of the two, which is why exam candidates keep asking for one. Some players find the treble tiring over long sessions. Which you prefer is genuinely personal, and twenty minutes at the shop settles it faster than any description.
At 180 kg this is one of the easier pianos to get into an awkward place. At 54 cm front to back it is one of the shallower cases in the range, which is worth knowing if the hallway it has to pass through is narrow.
The only other Yamaha we list at 108 cm tall is the M1A. If the MC108 is not on the floor when you ask, the table below is where we would send you next.
| Model | Height | Weight | Width |
|---|---|---|---|
| Yamaha MC108 This model | 108 cm | 180 kg | 148 cm |
| Yamaha M1A | 108 cm | 180 kg | 147 cm |
| Yamaha P1 | 113 cm | 180 kg | 145 cm |
| Yamaha LU-101 | 101 cm | 198 kg | 148 cm |
We do not guess about individual instruments. Ask what was replaced on the MC108 you are looking at and we will tell you, serial number included.
The piano heater that comes with it is not a gimmick. In a damp house, run on a timer, it is the cheapest maintenance you will do.
If you are not ready to commit, rent one by the month. Decide to keep it and the rent you have paid comes off the purchase price.
Yamaha's smaller cabinets, from 101 cm to 113 cm. Built for tight rooms and the lightest acoustic pianos Yamaha made.
108 cm tall, 148 cm wide, 54 cm deep, and about 180 kg. Height sets the tone, weight sets what delivery day looks like.
You need about 1.5 m of wall and roughly 1.0 m². At 180 kg this is one of the easier pianos to get into an awkward place. Message us the room and the floor. It takes a minute and saves a wasted trip.
We do not guess about individual instruments. Ask what was replaced on the MC108 you are looking at and we will tell you, serial number included. There is a five-year warranty behind it, and we are the ones who service it.
Rent-to-own runs on a separate pool that changes weekly, so we cannot promise a MC108 specifically. Ask what is free now. Nothing paid in rent is wasted if you decide to keep the piano.
Ask, because it changes week to week. No stock today does not mean no stock next month. We watch for specific models.
Twice a year. The piano heater that comes with it is not a gimmick. In a damp house, run on a timer, it is the cheapest maintenance you will do. We include the two tunings it needs after moving.
Ask what is actually in the shop today. We will send photos of the specific piano, tell you what was replaced in the rebuild, and be honest if another model fits you better.
