Every Yamaha upright below has been through a full restoration in Japan and a second rebuild in our Selangor workshop. Action regulated, strings and dampers checked, case refinished, then tuned on the floor so you play the actual instrument before you pay.
Height decides more of this than tone does. A 121 cm U1 and a 131 cm U3 are the same family of instrument, but they suit different rooms and they are very different jobs on moving day. Stock changes week to week, so ask before you travel.
The default first serious piano, and the easiest of the lot to sell on later.
An earlier U1 at the same footprint. Cheaper entry into the series if the case has been kept well.
Six centimetres taller than the U1H, and you hear it in the bass.
What teachers and exam candidates ask for. Check your access before you commit to 248 kg.

Worth clearing up, because the name confuses people every week. An upright grand is not a grand piano. It is an upright with a different back construction, and it stands against a wall like any other upright. If you want a true grand with a horizontal action, that is a different instrument.

The model name alone tells you very little. Each page below gives the height, the weight and the case dimensions of that model, plus an honest read on whether it suits your room. We do not hold all of these at once, so use them to work out what you want, then ask us what is on the floor.

127 cm, six centimetres taller than a U1, and the difference lands in the bass rather than the touch.

Tell us the room, which floor it is going to, whether there is a service lift and who is playing. Four answers usually take the list down to two or three.
Grands need floor area rather than wall space, and the stock changes. Ask us what is available before you plan the room.
Match it to the room, not to ambition. Under about 15 square metres a 121 cm U1 is usually right, because a 131 cm U3 in a small hard room can overwhelm it. Above that, the taller instrument earns its keep in the bass.
An upright. The UX line has an X-braced back and a heavier build, which gives it more power than the height suggests, but it stands against a wall and takes up the same floor space as any other upright. The name causes confusion every week.
It depends on the steps and the turns, not the distance. Delivery is free on a piano bought from us to a ground floor or a unit reachable by service lift, anywhere in Peninsular Malaysia. Staircase carries are quoted separately once we know the route.
As well as any piano will, which means twice-yearly tuning. Humidity moves the soundboard, and that movement is what pulls a piano out of tune. It is not a fault in the instrument and it applies to new pianos just the same.
Every upright on the floor is tuned and open. Bring your own pieces and take as long as you need.
