What we do

Everything Your Piano Needs, From One Workshop

Eight things, and they are all connected. The crew that delivers a piano is the crew that tunes it afterwards, and the workshop that rebuilds our own stock is the one that repairs yours. Most piano problems in Malaysia come down to humidity and handling, and both are easier to solve when one company owns the whole chain.

Used Piano Malaysia: Restored Yamaha And Kawai

Japanese Yamaha and Kawai, restored in Japan and rebuilt again in our own workshop, then tuned on the floor so you can play the exact instrument before you pay for it. Most of what we carry is uprights. Free delivery, an upholstered bench, two tunings after delivery and a five-year warranty are in every price, not added at the end. Grands come through in ones and twos, so ask us what is on the floor.

Why it matters

One Company For The Whole Life Of The Piano

A piano is not a one-off purchase. It gets moved, it drifts out of tune, and eventually something inside it needs replacing.

  • Our own crew, not a removal team

People who move pianos every week know that an upright carries its weight high and toward the back. General movers find that out on your staircase.

  • Tuners who know the instrument

The same workshop that rebuilt or delivered your piano is the one that returns to tune it, so nobody is guessing at its history.

  • Parts we actually stock

Four decades of Yamaha and Kawai uprights means the hammer, damper or pedal linkage yours needs is usually a part we have handled before.

  • One number for all of it

Buying, renting, moving, tuning, repair. You are not chasing three contractors and hoping they blame each other politely.

Bought your piano somewhere else? That is fine, and it is most of our service work. Ask About Your Piano
Rent-to-own

Rent A Piano, Keep The Credit

Rent a restored upright by the month. If you decide to keep it, every ringgit of rental you have paid comes off the purchase price. The rental is not a fee you lose. It is credit toward owning the piano.

  1. 1Ask us first. Rental stock is not on the shop floor and it changes. Message us and we will tell you what is available right now.
  2. 2We deliver it. Positioned, tuned, with a bench. You pay a fixed amount each month.
  3. 3Take your time. There is no deadline. Keep renting while the household makes up its mind.
  4. 4Keep it or return it. Keep it and your payments come off the price. Return it and you owe nothing more.
You never pay the rental twice. What you have paid, plus the balance, equals the piano. That is the whole arrangement, and it is why families who are unsure about lessons start here.

Common questions

Pianos In Malaysia: What People Ask Us

What does Sunwave Piano do?

Everything a piano needs after it is built. We sell restored Japanese Yamaha and Kawai uprights, rent them out on a rent-to-own basis, and move, tune, repair and restore pianos. All of it comes out of the same workshop, which is the point: you are not chasing three contractors when something goes wrong.

Do you service pianos you did not sell?

Yes, and most of the tuning and repair calls we take in the Klang Valley are for instruments bought somewhere else. It does not matter where the piano came from or how old it is.

Do you sell new pianos?

We specialise in restored Japanese uprights rather than new instruments. A rebuilt Yamaha or Kawai was built to a standard that the same money does not buy new today, which is why we put our workshop behind used pianos instead.

How often does a piano need tuning in Malaysia?

Twice a year for most homes. Malaysian humidity swings far more than the climate these pianos were built for, and the soundboard moves with it. That movement, not playing, is what pulls a piano out of tune.

Which areas do you cover?

Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, Negeri Sembilan, Johor, Pahang, Kedah and Kelantan. Delivery on a piano bought from us is free anywhere in Peninsular Malaysia to a ground floor or a unit reachable by service lift.

Can I rent a piano instead of buying one?

Yes, through rent-to-own. You rent a restored upright by the month, and if you decide to buy it, everything you have already paid in rental comes off the purchase price. Rental stock is not on the shop floor, so message us first and we will tell you what is available.

How much does a used piano cost?

We quote against the actual piano rather than publishing a figure, because two instruments wearing the same badge can be thousands of ringgit apart. What is fixed is what comes with it: free delivery, an upholstered bench, two tunings after delivery, accessories worth over RM500 and a five-year warranty on parts and labour.

Do you take trade-ins?

Talk to us about it. What we can offer depends entirely on the instrument, so send photographs of the piano, the serial number from inside the top lid, and where it has been kept.

Where is your piano shop?

On the 1st floor centre court of Tropicana City Mall, Jalan SS20/27, 47400 Petaling Jaya. Message us before you come and we will have the models you want to hear tuned and open.
