What The U3D Sounds Like

Full length bass strings give it authority a smaller upright cannot manage. On a rebuilt example the middle register is the best part of the instrument.

One of the earlier U3 generations. The scale did not change across the run, which is why condition decides the price rather than the letter.

Yamaha is the brighter and quicker of the two, which is why exam candidates keep asking for one. Some players find the treble tiring over long sessions. It is a preference, not a ranking. Come and sit at both.
