131 cm tall, 245 kg. This is the top of the upright range and it behaves like it.
Send the room size and which floor it is going to. If it will not fit, we would rather tell you now than on delivery day.
Yamaha
In the price, not added at the end.
The honest version. We would rather talk you out of the wrong piano than deliver it and hear about it later.
This is as close as an upright gets to a grand in the bass. It also needs a room that can take that much sound. Same case as the Yamaha UX-3, 3 kg heavier.
Set against the Yamaha U1H, the most commonly sold used Yamaha here, it is 10 cm taller and 28 kg heavier. Near the top of the weight range, which runs from 180 kg up to 254 kg.
Yamaha is the brighter and quicker of the two, which is why exam candidates keep asking for one. Some players find the treble tiring over long sessions. Which you prefer is genuinely personal, and twenty minutes at the shop settles it faster than any description.
245 kg. Fine with a service lift, a real piece of work without one. The case is 65 cm deep, which is more than most. Measure the doorway rather than assuming it will turn.
Yamaha built several at 131 cm tall: the U3A, U3D, U3E, U3F and 15 others. They differ in weight and case rather than in size. If the UX30A is not on the floor when you ask, the table below is where we would send you next.
| Model | Height | Weight | Width |
|---|---|---|---|
| Yamaha UX30A This model | 131 cm | 245 kg | 153 cm |
| Yamaha YUS3 | 131 cm | 247 kg | 152 cm |
| Yamaha YUA | 131 cm | 247 kg | 154 cm |
| Yamaha U3A | 131 cm | 248 kg | 154 cm |
We do not guess about individual instruments. Ask what was replaced on the UX30A you are looking at and we will tell you, serial number included.
Tune it twice a year. Not because it gets played hard, but because the soundboard moves with the weather and takes the tuning with it.
Renting first is the low-risk way in. Nothing you pay is wasted, because it counts toward buying the piano later.
X-braced backs and heavier build than the U line at the same height. More power than the dimensions suggest, and still an upright.
131 cm tall, 153 cm wide, 65 cm deep, and about 245 kg. Height sets the tone, weight sets what delivery day looks like.
You need about 1.6 m of wall and roughly 1.1 m². 245 kg. Fine with a service lift, a real piece of work without one. Give us the measurements and the access and we will be straight about whether it works.
We do not guess about individual instruments. Ask what was replaced on the UX30A you are looking at and we will tell you, serial number included. It carries a five-year warranty on parts and labour, honoured by the workshop that did the work.
Rent-to-own runs on a separate pool that changes weekly, so we cannot promise a UX30A specifically. Ask what is free now. Rent for six months, buy it, and those six months come off the price.
Ask, because it changes week to week. If we do not have one, we will say so and tell you what is close on size and weight.
Twice a year. Tune it twice a year. Not because it gets played hard, but because the soundboard moves with the weather and takes the tuning with it. The first two tunings are on us, once it has settled in.
One message and we will tell you what we have, what it costs, and whether the UX30A is really the right size for your room.
