What The YUS Sounds Like

Middle register is where these live, and it is good. The lowest octave is adequate rather than a selling point. Against the Yamaha YUX it is 10 cm shorter and 22 kg lighter.

Set against the Yamaha U1H, the most commonly sold used Yamaha here, it is 1 kg heavier. Middling for weight in a range that spans 180 kg to 254 kg.

Yamaha is the brighter and quicker of the two, which is why exam candidates keep asking for one. Some players find the treble tiring over long sessions. Which you prefer is genuinely personal, and twenty minutes at the shop settles it faster than any description.
